Business class on board was the same as I remember from traveling before Covid, for a flight to Rio from Paris it was comfortable and almost relaxing (I'm not a fan of flying) however boarding as a business class traveller no longer has the simple benefit of being out of the 'crush' once on the airbridge walking to the plane and started the journey off on the wrong foot. A note to add for the travel through Charles De Gaulle Airport. You will need more time now as the security checks take longer with all the hand luggage people are now encouraged to take.

Prior to the flights from Newcastle to Malta, I went to check in and get my boarding passes. The Air France app and website could check me into the Newcastle to Paris flight and issue a boarding pass but not for the Paris to Malta flight. At Newcastle airport I went to the Air France desk and asked them to get me checked into the Paris to Malta flight and give me a boarding pass but they were not able to, although they were able to book my luggage through to Malta. They told me to find a Customer Services person in Paris airport. When I arrived at terminal 2E in Paris, I quickly found a Customer Services person and they tried to help me get a boarding pass from the automated machines but were unable to. They directed me to the Customer Services helpdesk on the level below. I went there and they also tried to check me into the flight and issue me with a boarding pass but they could not. As the man said, Air France could not get me a boarding pass for an Air France flight. This was also an Air Malta flight, on an Air Malta plane. Attempts to check in and get a boarding pass on Air Malta website just got an error message every time I tried. The Air France customer services help desk person suggested that as time was slipping by, I should to go to Terminal 2 D where the flight was leaving from and tell the security staff what the problem was, show them my Newcastle to Paris boarding card and my itinerary and see if they would allow me through. I did this and although the flight was still boarding, not surprisingly they would not allow me through without a boarding card. I checked the flights board and my flight was still boarding so I found another Customer Services person and she directed me to check in area 2 where she said Air Malta staff would be able to help me. There were no Air Malta staff or any signs for Air Malta so I also went to check in areas 3 and 4, running as fast as I could. On my way past I saw that the flight was still boarding, on last call. Again there was no sign of Air Malta staff or counter at 3 or 4 so I went back to the Customer Services person who again directed me to check in area 2. The flight was still boarding on last call. I returned to the area 2 and absolutely there was no Air Malta counter/ desk/ staff/ signage / anything. I returned to look at the flights board but it had now closed. If you look at the CCTV of that area on that day you will see a woman running between check in areas, wearing a black and red stripy top and black trousers, which is me. The Customer services person was not able to tell me what I should do next, but could tell me where to go and look for my bag as I knew it would have been taken off the flight. I went to the baggage reclaim area, told the staff there what had happened and some time later my bags appeared. This left me 20 minutes to go to the ITA airways desk and buy a flight to Malta via Rome and check in which I did. They had no trouble at all giving me 2 boarding passes, one of which was also for an Air Malta flight (from Rome). As you can imagine, this was very incredibly stressful. I could not get on my flight, even though I was at the security gate before the flight closed, because Air France app, online, Newcastle check in , automated machines in Paris and personnel in Paris could not check me in and give me a boarding pass - although (in Newcastle ) they could check my luggage to Malta. And I could not check in or get a boarding card directly from Air Malta which actually ran the flight, with an Air France Booking Reference. I have tried the online complaints and have spent a lot of time completing forms , only to get repeated error messages or “try again tomorrow” messages. Phoning is not an option, I cannot call from work and where I live has terrible signal.

Unanswered Questions

Hello, I used the site to ask for feedback about taking a bicycle as special baggage. While the agents responded quite quickly, I found that some of my specific questions were not answered despite me asking them several times. This included a question about setting up a temporary booking & I never got an answer for this. Separately I asked whether I could take a bike on a non Air France/KLM segment (Copa Airlines) of my inbound journey. In the end I had to contact Copa Airlines directly to establish if I could or couldn’t take a bike as special baggage.

AF cancelled my reservation but forgot to tell me

After confirming my reservation via email, apparently AF cancelled the reservation they claim due to the credit card not approving the transaction - but even if true, AF failed to notify me and I only learned of this when I went to check in for the flight. Having this happen the Friday before Christmas put our entire holiday plans at risk - unbelievably poor processes and inexcusable.. We had to purchase new tickets on a different flight as our flight was now sold out - they were more expensive but at least there was availability on the same day.

We were refused to board the flight at Heathrow to Johannesburg despite being at the airport 2 hours early. We had checked in and everything so it was in your system that we showed up. Despite that your system was showing we didn't show up and blocked us from booking the next flight to Paris. This was not a holiday, we were going to a funeral of my brother who died unexpectedly and is a loved father, son and brother. You have the most evil supervisors/manager at Heathrow. I am going to make sure the world knows how you treat your customers.

Poor website functionality when booking

The website is very inconvenient. When booking, there are a few options (light, standard, etc) and baggage options for each are displayed. But nowhere does it say how or whether it is possible to pay for luggage separately. Can I add luggage later? Who knows. Book and find out! Additionally, the page with lots of options says "Continue to payment" after which I expect a summary before a "Pay now" button or similar. In fact the "Continue to payment" button just charges you and confirms booking, which was a surprise.

more consistency across KLM V's AF, why have two websites?

Have contact info Explain when the chat service is available Have a method of initiating that more consistency across KLM V's AF, why have two websites? AT least have the same prices, restrictions etc. I don't want to contact you via tik-tok, give me an email or a phone number, let me choose what country that number is for. Remember my passport details in flyblue. don't send me unsolicited SMS, it's costing me roaming charges. just of the top of my head

Poor inclusions for Business Class flights.

The booking confirmation email was wrong. Fortunately the actual booking was correct. I also can't believe that AiFrance would sell a Business Class flight without seat selection or lounge access (admittedly a slightly lower price but still thousands of £). By all means make it non-refundable, non changeable but leave the quality aspect of the Business Class experience). I had no alternative, AF were the only carrier on this route.

Flights good but support not so good

The actual flights are good, but the supporting services are not so good, specifically the website and Air France customer services. When using the website, it is common for the prices to increase when you do another search just minutes later. The customer services take months to respond to any complaint, & sometimes do not respond at all. And it seems impossible to talk to an agent, unless it relates to à booking or new sale.

Damaged hand luggage: On flight AF1314, Paris CDG to Birmingham BHX, 27 December 2023, my hand luggage was put in the aircraft hold. Upon arrival, my small suitcase was damaged, no longer usable. I filled in the relevant complaint form online and sent it, with photographs, to Air France, as soon as I collected the suitcase at Birmingham Airport. I have heard NOTHING from Air France. Today is 2 March 2024. Very poor service.

Misleading information Regarding the baby bassinet in the Air France transatlantic flights in their website it says that a bassinet is free of charge but went I try to reserve one for my baby girl they asked me to paid £59 even though I have book in comfort class doesn’t seem fair that after I paid £900 in just one way I can get a bassinet for my baby travel comfortable in a flight of 12 hours very disappointing

Air France and KLM Rip off

Having been given a discount code by AF and another by KLM, only the day before booking, only to be told neither was now valid, makes a mockery of this airline's trustworthiness. During the booking process, the fare went up, went down and went up yet again, all while the site was failing to complete the booking. If I really want to feel valued, it will not be through booking with AF/KLM Dreadful service

Be truthful with flights available

I booked a flight from a choice of 3 available flights. Within an hour of booking i then received an email advising that i had been moved to an earlier flight (which i didnt want). So i now have to go through a refund procedure. If flights are NOT available in the first place then they shouldnt be offered. Very underhand marketing tactics of Bait and switch by Airfrance - very poor

Your booking team could not book the flights I had on line (which I had a price for) They told me the Ncl-Paris flight didn’t exist even though it does, I was booking a multi city ticket. We ended up ha ing to change dates and pay more. Your contact thought Guadeloupe was part of french mainland!!! No idea of geography and English poor. I am disgusted at the level of service

Bonjour je suis très déçu de air France car j' ai eu trop de retard sur mon vol allée comme retour 3h à l allée et 2h au retour en plus je suis allé sur le site de air France prendre mon billet d'avion au point d avoir une assistante en ligne mais pour un billet de 680€ je suis retrouvé a payer 100€ en plus et je trouve que c est de l arnaque merci cordialement

Late take off, late arrival, and poor customer service.

Late take off, late arrival, and poor customer service really doesn't translate into good experience for the customer. Air France was over three hours late flying out of Lagos, yet in the soaring heat and unbearable temperature the airline did not have the courtesy of offering water to passengers - making it one of the worst uncaring airlines in the world.

Disappointing

My booking timed out just before pressing pay. I went to rebook straight away and the price had increased by 60/70 pound already. I had no choice but to book these flights so paid the higher price. The next day the flights were the cheaper price again. Your website states you don’t use cookies to track interest and increase prices. That is not true at all.

Unaccompanied Minor

It took a long time to book a ticket for an unaccompanied minor. Had to tried several times from different screen to be able to book. I finally understood that it couldn't be booked from the child profile. Had to be book as if no frequent flyer profil. Then I was able to book. Also it is possible to book with Miles which isn't fair in my opinion.

Airfrance gave me a birthday gift , £45 voucher towards a flight . Tried to claim it , would not allow me to proceed .rang help line , operator was unable to give me voucher value, . Due to an undisclosed rule , hidden from customer. No explanation on site . MASSIVE waste of hours of my time and VERY misleading. I will avoid AIRFRANCE in future

-Poor Service complaint department for fight between France in Ivory Coast -Poor quality food -overpriced tickets fight for Family travellers going from Europe to Ivory Coast -Air France have big market with no competitors in Africa for decades but the ticket are still very expensive compared to other companies . -frequent delays on luggage.

My boarding pass was not available on email, I had to go to the airport check desk to print my boarding pass and the lady took my hand luggage, despite the fact I wanted to keep it with me. Also, when we landed I noticed from the place window my luggage was dropped from the hold compartment and was lying in the wet tarmac and it was all wet.

Unable to rectify ticket purchase error within 5 minutes

Whilst booking my ticket online somehow the date got changed and I bought tickets for wrong date. I realised within 5 minutes and contacted Air France on WhatsApp. They refused to let me change dates. Other airlines allow you to correct mistakes made within a 1 hr or 24 hr window. I think this is very poor customer service from Air France
