Louis Moto's prices are competitive, and its telephone customer services advisers are helpful. its good service is let down by its choice of courier in the UK whose accounting team and local depot fall short of being totally useless! I had to pay VAT and other import duties, which Louis Moto repaid to me with a couple of days of me send it the relevant receipts. Parcelforce, then retained my order on the basis of me not having paid the necessary fees despite me having legitimate Parcelforce receipts proving that all import duties and VAT had been paid. It took several weeks, daily telephone calls and many formal complaints to Parcelforce before my order was released to me. Parcelforce tarnished my customer experience with Louis Moto but despite Parcelforce's negative impact on Louis Moto's brand with me I will continue to order from Louis Moto, but I will not be making any 'mega orders' if Parcelforce remains its UK courier.
Despite goods clearly advertised as VAT and duty paid for UK customers, items were retained by parcelforce pending payment of VAT and duty!!
Customer services contacted for advice and I was asked to pay the additional sum to parcelforce in order to receive the goods and then submit receipt and proof of payment for a refund!
I don’t have the additional £100+ available to pay this sum and advised customer service accordingly.
Customer service then agreed to pay parcelforce directly.
That would have been great, but the delays in delivery and dealing with the matter meant that I was no longer going to receive the panniers in time to for my imminent departure on a trip.
I advised customer service accordingly and requested that the order is cancelled and I would like a refund.
I was then shocked to be advised that I would only receive a refund once the goods were returned to Louis !
I’ve paid for the goods in full - including VAT and duty, never received them and now have to wait weeks for a refund in the hope that parcelforce eventually return them to sender!!
I am not at fault in any way here but am the only loser from this shocking experience!
The advertising for ‘VAT and duty included’ prices is incorrect and misleading.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience and treatment.
I am currently nearly £400 out of pocket - money which was paid for on credit and which I will have to pay interest on until it is eventually refunded.
I have a duty to share this experience and issue a warning to all my fellow bikers in the UK through the various forums and groups that I contribute to.

Awefull service / never again
You market your products in the UK with VAT and duty included. Then you send your products and let your customers pay the VAT and Duty again. I'm now waiting for weeks to get a refund for this money and will now start a complaint through PayPal.

You advertise as .co.uk store but AFTER I ordered discovered you are not a UK shop. My goods have been delayed in Customs and are now subject to another £70 charges - making service poor and price expensive. Would never use again!

UK import duty is not included before despatch of items.
Your website states that import duty to Great Britain is covered before despatch. This is not the case and I am now expected to pay the duty and recover my costs. If I knew this I would never have placed an order.

If the total value of an order exceeds £135, additional import duties will be charged to the recipient.
However, we give a full refund of the expenses to your original payment method.

Hasn't Arrived.
I ordered a Klim Jacket and Trousers on the 21st Jan, it shipped two days later. It has been 11 days since I ordered it and it still hasn't arrived. Nearly two weeks since the order.

Unfortunately, customs clearance for your parcel took longer than usual, in this case there will probably also be a letter from Parcel Force.
Once you have received the notification from Parcel Force, please simply pay the customs fees for the release of the parcel.
You can then send us proof of payment to service@louis.de so that we can reimburse you for the customs charges.
We apologise for the delay and the extra work involved.

Really really poor.
I can’t review the product because two weeks after ordering it still hasn’t arrived. Louis Moto are not interested and blame the carrier. Their carrier.
Would not recommend this company at all.

I was not given the option to cancel the order and source elsewhere.

Delivery is made from Germany, usually directly from the main warehouse in Hamburg.
A delivery time of around one week results from customs clearance, in your case it only took 5 days.
The final price is calculated from the value of the goods with the postage costs directly in the shopping basket, which works quite well in our online shop.
Only in the case of extra customs duties do our customers from Great Britain have to contact us once to settle them.

You didn't explain that I would have to pay an extra £65 for customs to Royal mail you need to make it more clear so people can make a decision very pleased with jacket

Basically, you only have to pay the customs fees for the release of the parcel, we will then process a compensation for these fees for the customers concerned.

The saddlebag holders have to be delivered later, but the parts will probably not take longer than two to three weeks to arrive.
Logistically, it has proven to be a good idea to dispatch products that are already in stock.
We would like to apologise for the delay with the backlog.
