Louis Moto's prices are competitive, and its telephone customer services advisers are helpful. its good service is let down by its choice of courier in the UK whose accounting team and local depot fall short of being totally useless! I had to pay VAT and other import duties, which Louis Moto repaid to me with a couple of days of me send it the relevant receipts. Parcelforce, then retained my order on the basis of me not having paid the necessary fees despite me having legitimate Parcelforce receipts proving that all import duties and VAT had been paid. It took several weeks, daily telephone calls and many formal complaints to Parcelforce before my order was released to me. Parcelforce tarnished my customer experience with Louis Moto but despite Parcelforce's negative impact on Louis Moto's brand with me I will continue to order from Louis Moto, but I will not be making any 'mega orders' if Parcelforce remains its UK courier.

I don’t have the additional £100+ available to pay this sum and advised customer service accordingly.
Customer service then agreed to pay parcelforce directly.
That would have been great, but the delays in delivery and dealing with the matter meant that I was no longer going to receive the panniers in time to for my imminent departure on a trip.
I advised customer service accordingly and requested that the order is cancelled and I would like a refund.
I was then shocked to be advised that I would only receive a refund once the goods were returned to Louis !
I’ve paid for the goods in full - including VAT and duty, never received them and now have to wait weeks for a refund in the hope that parcelforce eventually return them to sender!!
I am not at fault in any way here but am the only loser from this shocking experience!
The advertising for ‘VAT and duty included’ prices is incorrect and misleading.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience and treatment.
I am currently nearly £400 out of pocket - money which was paid for on credit and which I will have to pay interest on until it is eventually refunded.
I have a duty to share this experience and issue a warning to all my fellow bikers in the UK through the various forums and groups that I contribute to.

VAT and duty NOT included/paid

We are sorry, that your experience is such, that we receive the lowest evaluation possible.
Mind you, from your point of view it is correct!
However not from ours.
The statement on our site, that alll duties and taxes are covered, is correct.
We apologize for the incomplete advise given by our customer service. Normally we have two options, the first being you pay the customs invoice and we refund it to you or second, you send the invoice and we take care of it from here, which might take a bit longer.
We sure hope, that you understand our point of not refunding before returning in order to prevent fraud.
We sincerely are sorry for your experience and will get back to you in the near future.

Price good for the Cardo Head set. That is the reason I placed an order with your company. However I am deeply disappointed with the £60.29 I had to pay to HM Customs. It would of been cheaper to purchase here in the UK. I have instructed my colleagues not to use your company due to this issue which was not pointed out in your website.

I ordered my Packtalk Edge headset on 3rd August and was told it would be dispatched on 5th August and take about a week to reach me. I needed the headset for my trip to the Isle of Man to marshal. I left on 17th August without it Now 19th August and still in delivery depot!

Ordered a nolan N 87 visor which clearly stated Pinlock. Came without Pinlock. Apparently that’s extra. No apology, no help. Just the option to return. Wasted £44 and it took a week. Misleading information on ad. An expensive mistake.

First delivery was damaged and still waiting for replacement
First delivery was damaged. Replacement still hasn’t arrived. Despite being shipped 9 days ago. Taken nearly a month to get an exhaust and I still haven’t got it yet. And the customer support don’t seem bothered.

Item was delivered to the wrong address. With an expensive item this is unacceptable.
I bought a H&B side case and C Bow brackets for @ EUR 200 each. EU VAT at 20% was added to this cost, so total EUR 505
On entry to the UK Parcel Force on behalf of the HMRC added VAT again along with Duty and Clearance Fees of £ 76.
There is a process with HMRC where you can reclaim the VAT from the EU member state using form BOR286. How long this takes i do not know.
However, Louis Customer Service were excellent and offered immediately to refund my invoice from Parcel Force for the full £76. Thank you Louis.
I do not know if it is possible for EU companies not to charge the VAT to UK customers in the first place, as UK HMRC will charge VAT on most goods over £135
